Ask iPhone owners for their most requested feature and consistently the answer will be: better battery life. On paper, like much of the iPhone 6 spec, the 1810 mAh battery seems to disappoint. After all it doesn't appear to be much bigger than the 1560 mAh battery in the iPhone 5S despite having to drive a far bigger screen and rival phones typically have battery capacities of around 2300-3000 mAh.

Again Apple turns these expectations on its head. Even Apple's official figures (above) are not that inspiring, but I found the company's claims to be happily conservative. With moderate use the iPhone 6 will not only get you through a day but also some of the next and with heavy use this is the first iPhone I've used to genuinely last all day.

Naturally there are caveats to statement. A lot will depend on the settings you specify (screen brightness, automobile lock screen time, etc), the strength of the signal in your area (weak signal is more draining), even the particular apps you install, how well they are coded and the settings you specify (for example: how often must your podcast app check for new episodes or your RSS reader refresh).

As such your mileage may vary. It also remains to be seen how the battery batteries degrades gradually and with future iOS updates. But that is speculation and ultimately I'm delighted to say one of the most potentially disappointing facets to the iPhone 6 is actually a triumph.

The iPhone 6 undoubtedly isn't on par with the far bigger battery in the iPhone 6 Plus and I've seen even better battery life from the Samsung Galaxy S5 (which also has a removable battery) and the HTC One M8 (which doesn't) yet few will be complaining.
